Roof replacements

Old roof stripped, framing checked and made good, new metal sheeting on and the house watertight each night.

A replacement is the point where everything hidden gets seen. We strip the old roof back, and with the battens exposed we can finally check what has been happening up there — rot where water has been tracking, split timber, spacings that were never right for the profile. That gets corrected before a single new sheet goes on, because a new roof laid over tired framing is a new roof with an old problem underneath it.

We stage the work so your home is watertight at the end of every day. Sections come off and go back on in sequence rather than the whole roof being opened up and left exposed, which matters enormously in a Central Queensland summer where a clear morning turns into a downpour by three.

Replacements are also the natural moment to fix things that were compromises the first time round: undersized gutters, valleys that run too flat, missing sarking, no ventilation in a hot roof space. We will point those out during the quote so you can decide with real numbers instead of being surprised mid-job.

Questions we get asked

A straightforward house is usually a few days on site. Weather, roof size and anything we find in the framing once it is exposed all shift the timeline, and we keep you posted as it goes.
