Roofer fixing new corrugated iron cladding on a Capricorn Coast home

About us

A local roofing business, built for coastal weather

Bladeys Roofing works out of Cooee Bay, covering Yeppoon, Rockhampton, Emu Park and the Capricorn Coast. Metal roofing is all we do, and we do it on our own doorstep.

How we work

Specialists, not generalists

Bladeys Roofing is a metal roofing business. Corrugated iron and trimdek sheeting, the guttering that carries the water away, and the cladding that keeps it off your walls — that is the whole scope, and it is deliberate. Doing one thing means we know exactly how a coastal roof fails and precisely which details stop it happening.

We are also small on purpose. The person who comes out and quotes your roof is the person who will be on it, and there is no rotating cast of subcontractors between the two. That is the only reliable way we know of to keep the standard the same on every job.

Being based at Cooee Bay shapes everything about how we build. Salt air chews through standard fixings, onshore wind loads sheets in ways an inland roof never sees, and our wet season delivers a year's rain in a handful of afternoons. So coastal-rated screws, protected cut edges, separated metals and properly sized drainage are simply how we work here rather than line items you have to ask for.

And we give you the honest answer. A fair share of the roofs we are asked to replace only need a repair or a restoration, and we say so. It costs us the bigger job on the day and it is the reason most of our work comes from people who were recommended by a neighbour.

What we will always tell you

Whether a repair will genuinely hold, what we found once the roof came off, and what a job will cost before we start it.

What we will not do

Coat over rust to hide it, quote a replacement you do not need, or leave your roof open to the weather overnight.
