Roof repairs

Leaks, storm damage, loose sheets and failed flashings traced back to the real cause and fixed properly the first time.

A leak almost never appears where the water gets in. It runs along a batten, down a rafter and shows up in a ceiling two metres away, which is why patching the stain on the plaster achieves nothing. We get up on the roof, work back from the internal damage and find the actual entry point — a lifted flashing, a rusted valley, a screw that has backed out, a blocked box gutter holding water where it should not sit.

Most repairs we attend in Rockhampton and Yeppoon come down to flashings and valleys rather than the sheets themselves. Those are the details that get skipped on a rushed install and the first things to fail after a big blow. We will tell you honestly whether a repair will hold or whether you are better putting the money toward a replacement, because sinking repair after repair into a roof that is finished is not a service to anyone.

After storms we prioritise anything letting water into a house. If you have sheets lifted or a ceiling coming down, call rather than email — we will get a tarp over it and come back to do the repair properly.

Questions we get asked

Yes, that is the normal case. Water travels along framing before it drops, so we work back from the internal mark to the entry point rather than guessing from underneath.
